The frog is an important symbol in many aspects of our lifes. In ancient times nine thousand years ago, in Europe, the frog was seen as the Goddess, the Mother, the Nature. In north and south american cultures, it has the same symbolic meaning, indicting the creative and destructuve force of Nature with her cicles of renewal. For the Aztecs, Quetzalcoatl, the winged-serpent God, and Tezcatlipoca, the jaguar God, found the frog in a primordial sea and by cutting her body in half they created the sky and the earth. In the precolumbian America the animal was seen as bringer of good health and as the protector against evil and dark energy. In the ancient Egipt, the Goddess Heket, half frog and half woman, was the protectress of the pregnant women and of the royal births. Indeed all around the world, the frog is seen as granter of feminine fertility. Another key aspect to consider is the theme of transformation into a new form or expression of self. The tadpole looses it's tail, grows legs, and it substitute the gills with lungs. From water to earth, it becomes an amphibian animal. This is very close to the process of spiritual transformation, after a long period of growth we shed our old skin and we transform into a new being, with a new life and into a new environment. Another important theme for the frog, indeed, is change; the impermnence as the only constant in our life. Since it is linked with water, it is very close to feminine energies and therfore with our emotional sphere and the process of cleansing. This is particulary true when it is seen as totem animal; it heps to detox and transform negtive energies. As a guide it teaches us to review our beliefes and thought patterns in a way that is more in lignment with our current reality, not with our past. If you want good fortune and a touch of aboundance in your life, that is another meaning carried by the frog. Even in the dreams it keeps it's meaning of transition/transformtion/renewal. Also they are there to make you aware of the love, blessings, prosperity, present in your life; maby a wish is coming true for you. Adactability and the capacity to go through new and unusual situations are also other chracteristics for this animal.
